Alcohol Advertising Review 1998 Since 1993 alcohol advertising in New Zealand has come under the jurisdiction of the Advertising Standards Authority, an industry self-regulatory organisation. In March-May 1998 the ASA undertook a review of its Code of Liquor Advertising. The Alcohol & Public Health Research Unit has made a submission to the ASA. Based on NZ and overseas research findings about links between advertising and alcohol related harm, APHRU continues to support a ban on alcohol advertising on the broadcast media.
